This summer at Cyrano's

"RAVEN'S RADIO HOUR...a silly and fast-moving look at parts of our state that most guide books skip over ...entertainment with a little instruction, nicely suited to amusing your summer visitors...information that locals sometimes take for granted." -- Anchorage Daily News

"Yeah, that's Ed in drag" -- Read Mike Dunham's latest blog post on ADN's ArtSnob

Chills! Thrills! Laughs and just plain FUN!

True Tales of the Frozen North features the mesmerizing Linda Benson, who draws from historical and often eyewitness accounts to share real stories of the women of the Alaska Gold Rush.

"Benson animatedly shifts from one persona, accent or social class to another, swapping out costumes and reacting to the audience with humor and wit." -- Anchorage Daily News

Plays through Aug. 11, every other Monday matinees at 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Check Centertix.net for exact times. Note: Cyrano's will be dark July 26-27.

SOUVENIR
Aug. 27 - Sept. 12, 2010

By Stephen Temperley
Directed by Bill Farbis
Starring Kate Egan and Jerry Steichen

A fantasia on the life of Florence Foster Jenkins - a wealthy socialite who, despite a famously-flawed sense of pitch, tempo and key, became tremendously popular in Philadelphia and New York during the early 1900s. It is a heartfelt and wickedly-funny look at self perception and friendship. Advanced tickets available at CenterTix.net.

Cyra-"NEWS"

  • CTC resident playwright, Dick Reichman, is putting SOMETHING on the barbie in Australia - he's there enjoying a production of THE BIG ONE by a theatre company in Sydney.
  • Sandy is off to track down Conor McPherson in Dublin, Ireland. CTC is producing his play THE SEAFARER in October with an all-star Anchorage cast. Directer Krista Schwarting just passed out Irish dialect tapes so Sandy will be busy "in the field" doing "research."

  • But if YOU are HERE in wonderful Alaska...don't miss and don't let your guests miss Cyrano's great summer shows playing through mid-August! There is still time to take advantage of the buy-1-get-1 free ticket offer to see TRUE TALES 7 p.m. Tuesday or Wednesday night. Call 274-2599 to reserve tickets or take your chances and show up 15 minutes before the show. Magic word: CYRA-"NEWS"

  • Cyrano's Theatre Company is now listed on Broadwayworld.com! (Even though we are off off off OFF B'way!)
